Four decades in the cycling business and a professional team mechanic

Sandy is a Cy-Tech trained bicycle mechanic with over 4 decades of experience working with and repairing bicycles. He is a member of British Cycling qualified as a team mechanic and cycling coach.
 

As the head mechanic for British Cycling, Canadian Cycling, Scottish Cycling and Cycling Ireland, Sandy has worked multiple World Championships and seven Olympic Games. Athletes whom entrusted their bikes to Sandy include Sir Chris Hoy and Sir Bradley Wiggins. He has also worked with Specialized as a professional bicycle mechanic for their Global Racing team working with the mountain bike riders as well as triathletes.

 

It was four decades of owning a bicycle shop in Edinburgh that has given Sandy the experience of working with all different types of bicycles from entry level to the top professional bikes. 

 

He also draws on his experience as an internationally renown competitive cyclist to analyse the way a bicycle behaves in situations, utlizing his judgement on circumstances relating to cycling accidents and the possibility of product failure. 

 

Sandy works with legal firms in the United Kingdom and in Ireland to provide expert advice as it relates to bicycles and cycling accidents.
