The Mechanic

Four decades in the cycling business and a professional team mechanic

Sandy opened his bicycle shop in 1968 in Edinburgh.  For over 4 decades, Sandy Gilchrist Cycles serviced the families who were interested in bikes for their children to the professional riders of the day.

As a cycling career came to a close, an opportunity arose to utilise Sandy’s mechanical skills and coaching expertise to work with the Great Britain team at international races.  This began a career of working with teams from around the world.  Sandy developed a deep understanding of the mechanical side of the bicycle and how it reacts.
